I imagine anybody would get use from this training, even someone who feels 100% put together and is fully self-aware (which I’m not sure exists). Part of the course is learning to recognize the strengths/weaknesses of others in terms of task/time management, which can foster a more collaborative, understanding, and gracious workplace. Honestly, it would probably be at its greatest benefit for everyone to take it; not just for the insight but to have the perspective and vocabulary to talk about these things with one another.

It was a great training, Mary Ellen Baker kept everyone engaged for the entire 3 hours and it flew by! She also provided tangible takeaways! I’m guessing any of her sessions would be winners.
It’s really hard to settle on one main thing; the training as a whole has the potential to help me make major changes in my personal AND work life.
I thought the training was put together very well. It kept my interest and was presented in a manner where we all could participate.
I thought the training yesterday was amazing! Mary was such a knowledgeable and passionate speaker and I wish every employee could see her presentation. I hope to implement as many of her organization/time management tools as I can. I would take a look at any other courses she offers.
I definitely think others will benefit from this training, it is realistic and applicable. I’m going to try to get my co-workers to sign up!
As much as I think I am this organized, focused person, the instructor brought up a number of interesting self-assessments that made me realize that I could really use some work on focusing. I do at times suffer from sustained attention if I really am not all in on a project and that if I complete the project in stages starting with 15-30 minutes (time circles) of full attention I can really make progress and keep focused.
In order to avoid forgetting little things that come up during the day, I’m going to try to start writing things down immediately as I think of them, instead of waiting until I have time to.
There were many ideas I received from this class so I don’t know if there is one main item, but I will try to narrow it down. I have a problem falling asleep as there are so many things that start popping into my brain when I start to relax and last night was no different. I got up and wrote the ideas down on a piece of paper so I wasn’t worried about forgetting them this morning. I have already wrote a few more ideas down this morning. Before I left work yesterday, I wrote myself a note to post on the back of my door so when I close the door, it reminds me to stop and be present 2 or 3 times an hour. I also will be working on more planning of my time and I think I am going to by a minute cube timer and a white board note planner as I can see many uses that will help me stay on task now that I understand more about how my brain operates.

This course went above and beyond our expectations! Our organization’s leaders identified time management as an area of growth for our employees, so we brought on Mary Ellen to provide training on this topic. The feedback that we received from our staff regarding this course and Mary Ellen was nothing but positive. The course provides bite-sized, practical ways to prioritize tasks, manage time, and ultimately achieve goals. Mary Ellen facilitates this training in a way that is personal, effective and engaging. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the Time Professionals!

I very much appreciated the personalized approach for this time management class. It was not a one-size-fits-all approach. Or rather, IT wasn’t a one-tool/process-fits-all approach. People truly are unique. I loved being able to pinpoint the areas where my brain functioning could use some help and then being provided with possible tools to help. It was also encouraging. I felt better about myself after the class – realizing that it isn’t helpful to beat myself up over my overflowing work to-do list. I will try some of these tools in my work life and in my personal life. Thanks for offering this type of class!

I hope that you continue to offer this course so that other employees have the opportunity to enroll. I also think it would be great to have Mary Ellen back to teach some of her more advanced classes for those who have completed the initial class. She is a great presenter.
We should add more classes taught by this instructor. She was so wonderful. I learned so much that will help me in my professional and personal life.
It has taken more than an hour to just complete this survey because of interruptions, but thanks to you, I’m finishing it instead of thinking I don’t have time and just closing it. I also ordered a cube timer. You truly have helped me and I’m going to join Go Brain Go. Thank you!!
I started using the scheduling sheets immediately afterwards.
I very much enjoyed this class. Mary Ellen was an engaging, relatable and knowledgeable presenter. The class provided both bigger picture concepts as well as very practical tools that I have already started implementing during the workday. Highly recommend!
I loved this class. I will use the tools I learned for time management, initiation and keeping track of tasks. Thank you so much for this amazing class!!
Central Oregon Community College
This course provided me with practical tools to support just what I needed to become more efficient and less stressed. Mary Ellen is a dynamic and engaging online presenter and great to work with administratively, always responsive and thoughtful with communication and planning. I’m pleased to offer this in our Continuing Education program for others to have access to such practical and useful tools.

I really enjoyed the training and have already shared my great experience with three co-workers this morning so far. I was happy to learn some strategies to manage the areas I have struggled with and was excited to learn and understand why certain things have been a challenge for me. It is nice to know there are science-based reasons why I function the way I do, and to have tools to support myself in the areas that need improvement instead of judging myself and feel poorly about not achieving successful results with managing my time and productivity.
I believe the takeaways from your class will be a great help in both my professional and personal life. I have not been as excited and hopeful for any time management skills I have learned in the past as what I learned in your training. I look forward to implementing some changes to help me overcome some barriers and challenges.

This class exceeded my expectations. This was the best project management/time management class I’ve ever taken. Instructor was excellent. The materials are useful and will continue to be a good reference.
I appreciated your very comprehensive class. You are truly amazing, have a terrific blend of attention to process, strategies and tools, while attuning to us individually and collectively as people – with kindness and compassion, thoughtfulness and humor.
Bring Mary Ellen back for additional topics on organizing, project management and cognitive matters. She is excellent!
I appreciated the thought put into multi-modal learning (having the workbook to take notes in, and the exercises to engage participants by having us think about our own challenges and strengths with the way our brains are wired). The tools Mary shared are accessible and easy to implement, and in just one day are already helping me to feel more organized and in control of my time. I loved how Mary showed us examples of how she uses organizational tools in her personal life (folders and post its, as well as a family to-do white board), seeing her systems helped me to visualize how easily I can put those same tools into practice in my own life. Thank you Mary, your training was worth every penny, and truly time well spent!

Thank you so much for sending me the Executive Functions “cheat sheet” & tools to help me. Your class was excellent. I need to work on applying what I’ve learned from you. Covid-19 has thrown my life a huge curve ball. I’m quite sure that I’ll be interested in another class of yours in the near future.
Thank you for the awesome training! I learned so much and have recommended the training to other staff. I actually would like to take it again. Also, that following weekend I went out and purchased a 30 inch analog clock! I love it and really does help me track time. Thank you for sharing the resources.
It was fantastic. I wouldn’t change anything. But I would love to do her other courses. Her style was really clear and really useful. She was knowledgeable but approachable. Really great class.
I want more workshops from this trainer!
I loved the class. It’s one of the best time management courses I’ve ever taken. I’ve recently read several books on this topic and this is by far the most helpful and practical. It synthesizes several pieces and disciplines into one easy to follow course.
Oregon’s Vocational Rehabilitation
Ms. Baker is a gifted teacher with a passion for her topic. She has taken a well worn subject and brought new life and value to it by including the specific challenges each one of us brings to the table. The addition of Executive Functions of the brain and where we each excel or perhaps need some strategies to compensate is such a helpful thing to know. There are key strategies to help bolster each of the executive function areas, so whether we needs lots of assistance with an area, or just want to pick up some new tips – this training is interesting and full of immediately useful information.

I’ve heard several mentions from our staff of the helpful takeaways they received as a result of participating in this training. We appreciated hearing, and actually felt some relief in knowing that executive function skills have nothing to do with intelligence or IQ.
Angela Ewing, Rehabilitation Counselor
The practical information about how we can support our brains, the self-assessment of our executive functions and the specific strategies to increase productivity were most helpful. Although many of the strategies were familiar to us – we were not aware of specific strategies for specific brain skill weaknesses. In addition, we appreciated your friendly approachable style of teaching as well as your knowledge of the subject and practical examples.
One of the most useful courses I’ve taken – practical, helpful, I am beginning to apply these techniques and I feel it will enhance the way I work. I would like to take the longer Mindfulness individual class. THANK YOU!

This class was one of the most interesting, relevant and well-presented classes I have attended in a very long time. Mary did a great job presenting the content of the class in an engaging manner. I loved the slides, the handout and the information presented throughout the class. I also really enjoyed Mary’s willingness to share examples of her own life experience to keep it funny and help the listener connect. I was hooked! The content helped reinforce some things I already practice and taught me new things that I am looking forward to trying. I really could listen to content like this all day long!

This was one of the most helpful trainings I have had in years!
Thank you. I was able to attend good chunks of your seminar but missed lots too. Still got a lot out of it though and I want you to know how much I appreciate your work. I don’t know if it’s allowed but I definitely want to attend this seminar again at a time I can be fully focused. I would even take a day off to do it!
This was one of the easiest trainings to follow and it was so interesting to learn about how executive functioning impacts our ability to manage our time well.
I found this seminar to be very thoughtful and plan on attending again. I know I will find value in reinforcing the things I learned. The materials were straightforward and user-friendly and the presenter was very effective. I appreciated being allowed to take time in the seminar to immediately apply what I had learned. Good stuff!
I found this training very helpful. Prior to the training I hadn’t given much thought to how my brain functions and my strengths and weaknesses affected my time management. All of the information and tips were practical and things I could see myself trying out. Mary Ellen was knowledgeable, engaging, and relatable. I would love to attend any other trainings you offer.
Mary’s time management class is a great tool to have for professional development. She is well-prepared and her training is helpful.
Breaking down bigger projects into smaller manageable tasks is something I struggled with. I appreciate the fresh perspective and approach I can use.s well-prepared and her training is helpful.
The class was enlightening and provided me with some new practices that I’m excited about implementing.

This was a great class that reminded me of some organizational tools I should be using but more importantly grounded the advice in psychological & neurological principles that helped them make sense.
Noah Brimhall, Director of SEO & CRO
The course definitely covered some of my problem areas. While the practical and tactical solutions are simple, Mary Ellen did a great job of connecting efficiency problems to their causes and solutions with relevant scientific research.
Bryce Hanson, SEO Manager
Great analysis of not only what can help increase your productivity (personally and professionally), but also breaking down the ‘why’. Having the insight to the neuroscience definitely made everything more tangible for me!

Very informative and refreshing.
Loved your class! It was great to learn how I am wired then find solutions to help combat that.
I loved your approach of understanding the way brains work. I was really fascinated by the knowledge. I feel like I have a better understanding of my brain, in addition to ways in which to best work around it.

This is the best training I have done this year.
Really good information. Great training.
It was time well spent 🙂
WHOOOOO!
This was awesome! Very informational and fascinating!!
I’ve taken Time Management classes in the past, however, the tools and explanations/definitions you provided are by far the most helpful.
Thank you. Wish I had this for my children 30 years ago.
This class will definitely assist me in my success professionally and personally. Thank you again.
Awesome! Thank you so much!!!
This training was fantastic! Very valuable 🙂
Thank you so much! Super helpful!
Great training, thank you.
This is an incredible training. It should be part of our new worker training.

I took your time management class last week. First, I want to say how pleasantly surprised I was with how interesting and informative your class was. I truly learned a great deal and it helped reinforce some things I already knew about myself and my planning/time management skills. Second, I would like to say that from your class and from those 10 skills we discussed, I learned that my only weakness was finishing tasks. Since then, I have been really focusing on finishing tasks before starting a new one. This mainly pertains to my hobbies as I’ve never prioritized them before. This week alone, I’ve finished 3 tasks; one of which I’ve been working on for 1.5 years!!! So thank you. I wanted to send you a message and just say how thankful I am you taught us this class and how I haven’t stopped thinking about it in the last week and how it’s really positively impacted my life since that morning.

Mary Ellen is wonderful! She created trainings for us that were relevant, engaging, and applicable, and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. She’s responsive, organized (of course!), flexible, and really committed to doing excellent work.
Rebecca Koon, Training and Equity Coordinator
She worked hard to make sure she understood the different roles and needs of various staff groups, meeting with supervisors and gathering information, so that she could design trainings that were tailored to the specific needs of each group. Her training style is approachable and interactive, and it’s clear she has deep knowledge and expertise of her subject. She uses lots of stories and examples to help trainees understand the content, and staff especially appreciated how interactive the sessions were.
In the training environment, it was great to be able to think about and plan for how the new skills could be applied on the job. We will absolutely work with Mary Ellen again and can’t recommend her highly enough.

Best training at Home Forward ever.
I learned to use analog clocks and a few different ways to plan out my time!
The class was very Informative. I am using a lot of things that I learned and have applied them to everyday life at home and at work.
I thought it was very helpful. I now have a daily calendar and a weekly planner. It’s definitely helped me get my schedule in check.
Excellent.
Super helpful for both myself and staff. We are already using some of the suggested tools!
I really liked your presentation it was of great help. I am working with my folder every day and trying to use it in my personal life. The only comment I would have is how fast we went through the material although it helped with keeping everyone on track. I wish it would have been a little slower. Thank you 😊
Very great ideas were given to keep track of time and organizing techniques. Also very good information about how our brains work.
I found your training very helpful. I have already implemented only checking my email 3 times a day which has helped me stay more on task and a bit less stressed 🙂
I love the binder I received! It is going to help me with coordination around the many properties I oversee.
I thought the training was well done. I was able to take away some tips that I could use in my day to day work.
Useful and eye opening.
I appreciate the opportunity to talk and think about our use of time and how we might improve this to become more efficient but also less stressed.
I liked this training and found it be very useful at work and home. I really enjoyed how our brains function and what we use and how we store memory.
This was an excellent training with very helpful tips and fantastic information!
I really enjoyed the class.

I got a lot out of the class, both for work and home. Mary Ellen clearly explained the class structure so we knew what to expect of the 3 hours class. She explained the complicated topic of brain science in an understandable way, utilized the many styles of learning, visual, auditory and kinesthetic. Included many relatable examples, and offered many different practical and useful tools to try out to help manage your time. I think everyone came away with something they could try!

I loved the instructor, the class, material, the way the information was communicated. I left the class feeling energized, motivated, and positive with several takeaways.
I really appreciate that your training focused on the basics: do not multitask, do one thing at a time, reverse engineer projects from the desired outcome, do your best be present.
I LOVED this workshop – applications for both personal and professional life. I’ve used several tactics already.
I loved the class, wish I could of participated in the full version. The workbook was helpful and made implementing some of what I learned right away [easier]. The science behind how our brains work in relationship to the topic was fascinating. It also justified my need for physical and visual tools outside of current mobile technology. I also loved sharing what I learned with others.
I have been applying the techniques suggested in the class and it has a made a huge difference in my accomplishments throughout the work day.
I found the information very useful and helpful. I have new tools to use for managing my time and projects.
I thought the workshop was very well organized and very helpful! Mary Ellen is great at personalizing the ideas and strategies in the moment so people understand.
I really enjoyed and benefited from this class. I went straight home and used the time cube and the time circles with my son and he has been using them every day with homework.
I liked the course.
I got a lot out of the training. Thank you!
Great class. I especially liked how well you provided concrete tools to use for common time management challenges.
The class presented several simple tools already within my ability to employ. The instructor explained the tools and answered questions from a position of deep experience and expertise. I also appreciated the grounding in neuroscience, it “humanized” the material and made it more directly impactful, to me at least.
I found your class to be informative and ** timely **! Thank you for the provision of insight as to how the brain works and how to retrain it to be more effective.
I thought the class was very informative and interesting. I enjoyed learning the scientific side of how our brain functions and relates to what we are experiencing. You provided a lot of interesting facts, tips, and skills that can be implemented in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming. The class was a good pace and the cube breaks were a great live example of time management.
I enjoyed the class and learned a lot of useful information. I think anybody can have a positive takeaway from this course.
Good class. I really liked the analog verses digital clock comparison.
The response inhibition (feel your feet!), task initiation (timer to START tasks) and working memory tips (and I’ve been using lists for decades more crudely) were my favorite new tools to improve my time management & stress levels.
Habitat for Humanity – Portland/Metro East
I’ve used your worksheets and got so much done before 9 am this morning! I didn’t realize how overwhelming a to do list is without the time circles! Having the circle there reminds me to allocate time segments to each task. I’ve also started using the time cube with my son and I’m realizing how important it is to use it with him so he doesn’t grow up with a warped sense of time. This morning, I set the time for 15 minutes for screen time and he said it felt like 5 minutes. I assured him that it was a full 15 minutes. 😂

Mary Ellen Baker created a customized time management training for my non-profit sales and support team. She worked diligently for many months by meeting with myself and my managers to create a training that would teach my team the skills they needed.
Melissa Miller, Department Director
The training she created was perfect! For adult-learners she built in many exercises to keep them challenged and engaged. Though the training was in late 2017, many of my team members are still utilizing the techniques she taught us. I think my team is more efficient and organized overall since taking her training.
